The presenter demonstrates how his research from a geographic perspective has enhanced the understanding of several important topics in economics. Specifically, four issues are examined: (1) urban structure, (2) wasteful commuting, (3) crime, and (4) equality. Examples were drawn from various case studies. 主讲人简介：王法辉，路易斯安那州立大学地理与人类学系系主任、James J. Parsons命名教授。曾任国际华人地理信息科学协会主席（2001-2002），担任过美国多个基金委评审专家组委员（美国国家自然科学基金2014-2015、国家健康研究院2006-2012、美国国家司法研究所2010）。2009年获中国国家自然科学基金海外与港澳学者合作研究基金。2009、2015获路易斯安那州立大学杰出研究奖。为国际多份杂志（包括《Annals of Association of American Geographers》(2011-2013)、《Annals of GIS》(2010-)、《Applied Geography》(2014-)、《Chinese Geographical Science》(2007-)）编委。研究领域包括人文（城市、交通、经济、文化）地理、城市与区域规划、公共政策（犯罪、健康卫生），研究方法包括计量方法和GIS。先后主持和参与美国科学基金会、联邦卫生部、联邦司法部、联邦住宅与城市建设部和联邦能源部资助科研项目十余项。发表（包括合作）100余篇论文（其中60余篇SSCI/SCI论文）、三本英文专著（一本已译为中文）和一本中文专著（合编）。论文据ISI引用1100多次、据Google Scholar引用3300多次。 http://ga.lsu.edu/faculty/fahui-wang/
